If you're an experienced litigator looking for meaningful work in a specialized area with autonomy and variety, this engagement is a great match.
What You'll Do Includes:
- Conduct legal research and drafting on construction defect and construction litigation matters.
- Draft and revise motions, complaints, answers, responses, briefs, and other litigation documents.
- Support discovery tasks, including preparing written discovery requests and responses, managing document review, and coordinating production.
- Assist with preparation for depositions, mediations, hearings, and trial, including witness and exhibit preparation.
- Help identify and analyze construction and design defect issues, such as structural deficiencies, code violations, water intrusion, defective workmanship, and other defect-based claims.
- Organize and maintain litigation files, track deadlines and case status, draft correspondence, and ensure compliance with procedural requirements.
Who You Are:
- Attorney with 3+ years of California civil litigation experience, ideally including construction defect, commercial real estate, or related dispute work.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills and familiarity with California state law
- Comfortable managing discovery, drafting pleadings and motions, and assisting with key litigation support tasks.
- Preferred familiarity with construction defect disputes, including defects arising from design errors or faulty construction practices in residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
- Able to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and third parties while maintaining professional responsiveness.
- Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.
