Job Description

Latitude is seeking a Washington-licensed Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience to support a busy, high-volume litigation practice. This is a fully remote contract engagement, with the opportunity to work part-time to full-time depending on business needs and attorney availability. There is also potential for conversion to a permanent position based on the firm's evolving needs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in class action litigation, wage and hour disputes, employment litigation, or other labor and employment matters. However, experience in these areas is preferred but not required. Attorneys with strong general civil litigation, commercial litigation, or other comparable litigation backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate must be comfortable managing a high-volume caseload, handling competing priorities, and working efficiently in a fast-paced litigation environment. Strong legal research and writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple matters simultaneously are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple litigation matters simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality work product.
  • Assist with class action litigation, wage and hour disputes, employment-related claims, and other civil litigation matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze complex legal issues, and develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Manage discovery, document review, depositions, and case preparation.
  • Assist with class action litigation matters, including class certification issues, discovery, motion practice, and settlement proceedings, as applicable.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and other proceedings, as appropriate.
  • Prioritize competing deadlines and manage cases efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate remotely with attorneys and legal professionals to ensure effective case management and timely completion of assignments.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Washington State Bar license (required).
  • 5+ years of litigation experience.
  • Wage and hour or employment litigation experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience in general civil litigation, commercial litigation, insurance defense, or other comparable litigation will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple litigation matters and competing deadlines.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Position Details

  • Type of Role: Contract engagement, with potential conversion to a permanent position based on business needs.
  • Schedule: Part-time to full-time, depending on business needs and attorney availability.
  • Location: Fully remote.

Compensation

Pay: The annualized pay for engagement position on a full-time basis ranges from $160,000 to $225,000+ when calculated on a full-time basis.
