- Litigate business disputes, including breach of contract, partnership and shareholder disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, and fraud claims.
- Support title insurance matters, including policy claims, coverage analysis, title curative issues, and related litigation involving title, escrow, and broker issues.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, oppositions, and briefs in California state and federal courts.
- Prepare and respond to written discovery, manage document productions, and meet and confer with opposing counsel.
- Prepare witnesses and outlines for depositions, and take and defend depositions as experience allows.
- Prepare mediation briefs and settlement analyses, and support negotiations to resolve matters efficiently.
- Assist with trial preparation, including trial briefs, motions in limine, exhibit and witness lists, and jury instructions, working alongside the firm's partners.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with partners and clients about case developments, strategy, and deadlines.
Who You Are:
- California-licensed litigation attorney with 4+ years of California litigation experience.
- Background in real estate and/or business litigation strongly preferred.
- Title insurance experience (claims, coverage, or title-related litigation) is a strong plus, but not required.
- Exceptional legal research and writing skills, with the ability to produce polished work product with minimal supervision.
- Hands-on experience with all aspects of pre-trial litigation, including law and motion, discovery, and settlement; deposition and trial preparation experience is a plus.
- Collaborative team player who communicates proactively and takes ownership of assignments.
- Organized and comfortable working in a remote environment, with strong technology skills and availability during West Coast business hours.
- Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing.
