Bring your construction law experience in-house, fully remote, onto some of the most ambitious projects being built today. You'll report directly to the General Counsel and work side by side with the construction, development, and procurement teams. You'll guide projects from initial contracting through completion and closeout, all from your home office.

This in-house lawyer position is a full-time, 2+ month contract engagement, meaning you'll be a Contract Attorney and a benefits-eligible Latitude W2 employee. The work involves:

  • drafting and negotiating design-build, general contractor, architectural, engineering, and equipment procurement agreements, including AIA forms and amendments
  • advising project teams on change orders, delays, schedule adjustments, completion milestones, warranties, and closeout
  • building systems to track notice and claim deadlines, and drafting notices, reservations of rights, and responses
  • identifying and managing potential claims involving contractors, designers, suppliers, and customers
  • aligning contractor obligations with customer commitments
  • managing outside counsel when needed
  • creating templates, playbooks, and training that help the business teams spot and escalate legal issues

Basic Requirements for the Contract Construction Counsel:

  • 5+ years of legal practice with substantial experience advising on complex construction projects. Owner- or developer-side experience on data center, power, industrial, or other capital-intensive projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of AIA contract documents, including negotiating amendments and administering agreements built on those forms
  • Experience negotiating equipment procurement and supply agreements, including long-lead-time, delivery, and warranty terms
  • Experience advising on project changes, delays, claims, and contractual notices during construction
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and organizational skills, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive matters
  • Outstanding professional references
